The impending heat of summer places a premium on the working order of air conditioning systems in the valley. Here, then, is a month-by-month suggested decadal for ensuring that your AC remains in top shape.
May: Spring Cleaning and System Inspection
Our first good look at the AC system comes while we're doing a spring cleaning (and, if needed, system reorganization) of the insulated garage. All the necessary tools are at hand. The system is within reach. And we're already partway into the May Inspection. With any luck, the AC will have been off when we started this cleaning and inspecting endeavor, meaning that all its component parts will have been cool to the touch.
After a thorough inspection, we turn our attention to ensuring that your air conditioning will perform at its best under the summer's onslaught. That entails several crucial tasks. One is to clear the way for adequate airflow. If the outside unit is choked with weeds and other debris, the airflow is going to be severely restricted. And if the inside unit can't circulate air through the space freely, it's going to struggle, no matter how well it may be working in an ideal setting. Then there's the proper refrigerant charge, which must be at the right level for the A/C to function optimally. Finally, we must get the thermostat calibrated to your liking. Unless that's done, any discussion of energy efficiency is moot.
Clear communication is an essential part of our service, and we make a point of involving you in the home AC maintenance process. When you work with us, you will know what we are doing and why. If we find something that needs to be fixed, we will explain our recommended course of action in a way that makes the reasons behind it perfectly clear. All of our techs practice "transparent communication." They not only tell you what needs to be done but also help you understand the importance of each action we take, ensuring your home cooling unit will handle even the harshest Sunrise Manor summer without breaking a sweat.
