Most often, an air conditioning system is maintenance serviced at least once a year. Commonly, the maintenance service is scheduled for early spring, just ahead of the when people really begin to rely upon the A/C for comfortable living conditions. The reasoning is that one wants to make sure the system works, and as efficiently as is possible, before it is required to run extensively, day in and day out. But what if one does not have that luxury, and the A/C must be used heavily right from the get-go? Or for that matter, if used heavily all summer, might one not wear the unit out? And what if the unit is located in a particularly dusty environment? It would seem reasonable to suppose that more frequent servicing and/or more watchful use in the first half of a calendar year, might work to the advantage of the user.
