Our technicians have a vast amount of HVAC knowledge and are RVT-certified (Refrigerant Venting Technician). They know exactly what to do and how to do it, and they know it so well because Freon recharges are one of our many specialty services. It's kind of like how, if you wanted to get into a great college, you'd apply to the college that is renowned for its programs, its professors, and its facilities. That is us. Applying for services here guarantees you the best in knowledge, the best in handling the equipment, and the best in the overall efficiency and effectiveness of getting the service that you want.

Freon recharge services are successful for the company due to a holistic and comprehensive method of service. They start by meticulously examining the HVAC system of the client. They tackle the job with a level of care and precision rarely seen in any kind of service. They make their assessments with a level of detail that shows a respect for the client's time and a deep understanding of the work. After identifying the problem, if there is one, they move to the kind of problem-solving that really impressed me. They use only the highest quality refrigerants, and the actual recharge has a kind of grace and reliability not seen anywhere else.

In the Freon recharge industry, HVAC Las Vegas stands out for its excellent customer service. The business places a premium on communication and transparency, covering both the service process and the price. Notwithstanding the many ways one could "educate" a customer about a service, HVAC Las Vegas stands religiously by the belief that system and service understanding leads to better customer decision-making. We favor flexible scheduling, prompt and efficient service, and minimal disruption to your routine that also respects pricing and return-on-investment.

Our Unique Approach to Freon Recharge

We have created a method of recharging Freon that is revolutionary compared to others currently available. Our approach entails not only the rigorous application of physics and chemistry but also the nearly lost art of "reading" an air conditioning system. First, we assess the system with the same care one might take when diagnosing an illness—only in this case, the patient's life depends on the proper functioning of its temperature-regulating endocrine system. Once we know what is going on with the A/C, we can more accurately determine what amount of refrigerant is going to make that system work as it should and not just work as it is working now, which by all indications is a failed state.

Sustainability is a huge part of our operation. We run our Freon recharge process as cleanly and safely as we possibly can. We use only EPA-approved refrigerants that have the least environmental impact. Our technicians are highly knowledgeable about proper refrigerant handling and disposal. The recharge itself, with any refrigerant, might be considered an emission source if mishandled. But our operation is designed as a closed system to prevent harmful emissions from escaping into the environment. If you're worried about air conditioning refrigerants affecting the environment, have us check and refill your system with a suitable, environmentally friendly, and efficient alternative.

What makes us different is our attention to not only the immediate problem of how to get the air conditioner blowing cold again—by whatever means necessary—but also the longer-term issue of how to make sure the system continues to work properly and efficiently for as long as it should. We're not just about recharging the refrigerant, but instead finding the much less common root causes of Freon loss (if you live in the U.S., chances are your air conditioner uses Freon—or a close equivalent as part of what's called R-22—in its refrigerant loop). Leaks aren't your only problem; you also may have insufficient airflow or may be encountering weird weather.

Tailored Freon Recharge for Every Need

Here at HVAC Las Vegas, we recognize that recharging an AC system isn't a blanket solution. It's not about doing the same thing for every vehicle that rolls through our bay doors. Each has its own requirements, not only in the vehicle but in the AC itself, with its own unique set of problems—if indeed it has a problem at all (sometimes, the AC has already had its due, and venting cool air under the dashboard just isn't in the cards anymore). Our approach, instead, is one that's tailored to each vehicle, each problem—what the techs in our service bay refer to as "finding the problem and fixing the problem."

We provide numerous alternatives to Freon. We attend to the distinct needs of particular makes and models. Vehicles might require R-134a, R-1234yf, or any other refrigerant type; we cover them all. Regulations have changed, and we know current industry standards backward and forward. That means we charge your system the right way, by the books. "Refrigerant recharge" isn't rocket science, but we offer a tailored service not many shops even think to provide. This means it's effective for the age of your vehicle, its state of repair, the cooling capacity it was originally designed for, and the local climate. "Maxx AC effect, minimum 'environmental impact'" is pretty close to our motto.

We're dedicated to providing tailored Freon recharge services that go well beyond just cars and trucks. We know cooling systems found in all sorts of places can, and do, use Freon. That's why we understand and are equipped to deal with complex recharging situations—for large-scale operations and small, specialized applications—almost anywhere, any time. Want to know what's really nice about our approach? We do all this while keeping in touch with the latest development in refrigerant technology and staying on the cutting edge, energy-wise, for our clients. By servicing systems with the optimal mix of refrigerant technologies, we're serving our clients well—and keeping them cool too.

Testimonials

Jim W.

For over three decades, I have called Las Vegas home, and in that time, I have never met a more dependable roofing contractor. When the roof of my aged mother's home needed urgent repairs, I was, to say the least, concerned about the process of finding trustworthy professionals to do the job. Yet, Las Vegas Roofing Company turned out to be just the right fit. From start to finish—without any express or implied warranty—they took care of my mother and her roofing needs with extreme care and patience. These guys are the kind of trustworthy professionals that you pray to find when you have an urgent roofing need.

As a property manager responsible for a large apartment complex, I have had to interact with many roofing companies. Standing above them all is Las Vegas Roofing. They approached our commercial roofing job with awesome skill and coordination. They finished ahead of schedule and under budget. I have never seen such vigor and enthusiasm in a work crew. They must be well led; there is always evidence of good leadership when you see a construction crew working like this one did. If there is any kind of roof on our property in the future that needs fixing or if there is any new kind of roofing job, we will definitely use Las Vegas Roofing.

When it was finally necessary to change the roof on our family residence, we were presented with a plethora of alternatives. Las Vegas Roofing truly simplified this process for us. A representative of the company took us through the many choices—each one a viable option, but some better suited to our home than others. We settled on a choice of color and texture. The installation team was prompt and worked well together. They respected our property and left the job site cleaner than they found it. The most spectacular part of the job was that they took extra care to ensure that the rose bushes in front of our house were not damaged—a necessity since those roses are our pride and joy. The new roof looks great, and I have no doubt that it will perform well even under the harshest conditions that the Vegas sun can dish out.

I am very impressed with the work done by Las Vegas Roofing. When a sudden leak developed during a rare desert downpour, they were at my house within a few hours. They quickly found the problem and had it fixed in short order. Their efficiency was remarkable. They explained everything to me in "normal people" terms and kept me up to date every step of the way. I already have recommended them to my neighbors and will call them again if I have any roofing needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Freon recharge?

Recharging a cooling system with Freon is necessary when the system has a shortage of refrigerant. This condition affects the system's ability to maintain cool temperatures and is usually the cause behind an AC unit that seems to not be working but appears to be running "normally." When a system is low on refrigerant, it will cool just above room temperature (if it cools at all) and will struggle to keep up with its desired set point. If a system fails to cool despite putting out air at a low temperature and has an apparent outlet with frost or ice buildup, it is likely having a problem with Too Little Freon.

How often should Freon be recharged?

In a perfect world, a well-functioning air conditioning system should not need a refill on Freon very often, if at all. Under normal circumstances, Freon should persist for the entire life of the cooling system without needing to be replaced. If the refrigerant is low and Freon must be added again and again over a short period, that's usually a sign that your system has a serious problem—most commonly, a refrigerant leak. A trained and qualified HVAC technician can help identify the problem and get your system back up and running efficiently.

Can I recharge Freon myself?

The complexity of recharging Freon makes it inadvisable for anyone untrained to attempt the task. Its intricacies and potential safety risks demand a level of expertise that most do-it-yourselfers do not have. Most people handling refrigerants either must be certified or must work under the direct supervision of someone who is certified. In fact, even those who are certified can't just go and buy refrigerant; they must have a job, or an employer with a job, to buy it for. This is 'safe' in that it keeps unqualified people from messing with a dangerous substance. And it seems to keep the environment safe because it prevents too much of the stuff from getting into the atmosphere.

How much does a Freon recharge cost?

Several things can affect how much it will cost to recharge a system with Freon. The most important is the kind of system that needs the refrigerant. A semi-hermetic compressor, for instance, is not typically found in most residences since it works best in commercial settings. Even if you have a residential system that uses R-22, you'll find the typical professional price to be around $550 to $650. If your system has diagnosed repair needs or requires a significant amount of refrigerant, the price can be right around $600—though some report having paid as little as $100 for the service.

What are signs that my system needs a Freon recharge?

Several signs demonstrate that the system may need a recharge, with the most noticeable being a stark reduction in the cooling performance of your air conditioner. The system starts to blow warm air at some of the same vents through which it used to blow cool air. This isn't the only potential symptom of a system low on refrigerant, though. Another symptom could be if you're hearing some strange new hissing sounds coming from the A/C that you've never noticed before. A refrigerant leak would definitely cause a noticeable and unusual sound. Hearing lots of hissing noises coming from your A/C system could be a signal that your system is leaking refrigerant and needs a professional diagnostic.

Is Freon being phased out?

R-22, a type of Freon, is not being used anymore due to how it affects the environment, particularly the ozone layer. The Environmental Protection Agency has told manufacturers to stop making R-22, which is commonly used, and to replace it with something that's more environmentally friendly. The newer refrigerants used in AC systems, like R-410A, don't have the same problem, but if you have an old R-22 system, you may need to either retrofit it or replace it entirely to comply with environmental regulations.

How long does a Freon recharge take?

Recharging Freon in a professional manner usually takes 1 to 2 hours. It's an involved process with multiple steps: if necessary, several repairs are made first, the technician meticulously checks the entire system, finding and fixing any leaks and ensuring that the cure for the air conditioner is not worse than the disease; then the system is refilled with refrigerant. If your car air conditioner is not blowing cold, the cause might not be low refrigerant, but a problem with the refrigerant circuit.

What happens if I dont recharge Freon?

Charging your cooling system with barely enough Freon can lead the entire system to work inadequently. The unit will run longer and use more energy to produce less cooling than it should. Working under these conditions can lead some cooling system components to fail, especially the compressor, an essential part of the system that does the hard work for the cooling system and lives in the system's high-pressure section.

Are there different types of Freon?

Cooling systems utilize several different types of refrigerants, each with distinct characteristics. Among the types still in use are R-22 (which is being phased out), R-410A (which is the current standard for residential systems), and R-134A (which is used principally in automotive applications). Not only do the different refrigerants have their own specific properties, but they also have varying compatibility requirements with different types of cooling systems. For this reason, it is imperative that HVAC professionals use the correct refrigerant in any given application.

How do technicians detect Freon leaks?

Several methods are employed by HVAC technicians to locate leaks in systems that have lost their refrigerant charge. These include using electronic leak detectors, which amplify and convert the low-frequency sounds of a small amount of refrigerant escaping the system into an audible tone that the technician can then follow to the source of the leak; using soap solutions that will bubble at the site of a leak; and employing more novel methods involving infrared cameras that can "see" the refrigerant vapor as it escapes the system.
